Frequently asked questions

How much does ClubPlaces cost?

It's free to join — no subscription and no per-member fee. We charge a simple, transparent 1% on the payments you take through ClubPlaces (no fixed per-payment fee), plus Stripe's standard processing fees (currently 1.5% + 20p for UK cards). Every feature is included.

How does payment collection work?

We use Stripe Connect, so your club is the merchant of record. Payments go directly to your club's bank account — we never hold your money, and only Stripe's own fees apply.

What types of clubs is it for?

Any club! Swimming clubs, football teams, running clubs, scout groups, village halls, social clubs and more. If you have members and run events, ClubPlaces is for you.

Can I import my existing member list?

Yes. Upload a CSV or spreadsheet and we'll map your columns automatically. Most clubs are fully migrated within ten minutes.

Do members need to create accounts?

No. Members can pay and RSVP via direct links without an account. If they do sign up, they get a self-service portal to manage details, view payments and register for events.

Is my data safe?

Yes. We use TLS encryption, hashed passwords and encrypted backups. Your data is stored in UK data centres and we're fully GDPR compliant. Card details are handled by Stripe and never touch our servers.
